FAQ

These are the same answers our WhatsApp assistant gives, so you get one story wherever you ask.

Tyre sizes

  • How do I know what tyre size my car needs?

It is printed on the sidewall of the tyre you already have, and usually again on a sticker inside the driver's door or in the fuel flap. It reads something like 205/55R16 91V. Send us a photo on WhatsApp and we will read it for you.

  • Can I fit a different size to the one on my car?

The rim diameter (the 16 in 205/55R16) has to match exactly. Width and profile can sometimes be varied slightly, but it changes your speedometer reading and how the car handles, so ask us before you do it.

  • Do I have to replace all four tyres at once?

No, but replace in pairs across the same axle, and put the newer pair on the rear. Mixing tread depths left to right on the same axle changes how the car behaves under braking.

Buying from us

  • How do I get a price?

Message us on WhatsApp with your tyre size, or fill in the quote form on this site. A branch will come back to you with a price for the exact tyre you need.

  • What payment methods do you take?

Payment options vary by branch. Ask your nearest branch on WhatsApp before you travel and they will confirm what they can accept.

  • What warranty comes with a new tyre?

New tyres carry the manufacturer's own warranty against defects in materials and workmanship. Your branch will explain what that covers for the specific brand you are buying. It never covers impact damage, punctures or wear caused by misalignment.

In the workshop

  • Do I need an appointment?

Walk-ins are welcome at every branch. Booking through this site just means the bay and your size are held for you, which matters on a Saturday.

  • Can every puncture be repaired?

No. A clean puncture in the central tread area can usually be repaired. Damage to the sidewall or the shoulder cannot be safely repaired, and we will tell you so rather than patch it.

  • Why does my steering shake at speed?

Most often an unbalanced wheel, sometimes a thrown balance weight or a separating belt. It is a twenty-minute check on the balancer, and worth doing, because an unbalanced wheel scallops the tread and wears your suspension.
